About Toby
Toby Buggiani was born in Rome, Italy to an Italian father and American mother and spent his early years experiencing the flavors of roman foods. His family moved to NYC in the late 70s, where he grew up but spent most of his summers back in Rome. After having worked in other kitchens, he decided to open his own restaurant in Greenpoint, Brooklyn in 2012 where he prepared vegetarian and vegan pizza and other Italian fare until he closed shop and moved upstate to the Finger Lakes region with his family in 2020. During his culinary career he has had the opportunity to work with a number of experienced roman pizzaioli as well as celebrated Beard Award winning chefs and his love of roman pizzas became an obsession. He is dedicated to making the best roman style pizzas you can find and is always working towards that goal.
